    3 TO 6 YEARS OLD: DISCOVER OUR DAYCARE AND PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

    Offered the full week, the daycare program is set to be a warm and comfort space for the early child, with a major attention on protecting the development and the awakening of the child. The Centre Pastel gives the child a lot of opportunities to discover nature and arts, with first contact with painting, knitting, tradition crafts, visual arts and music.

    6 to 10 years old: On the way to oUR PRIMARY HOME SCHOOL program

    The program offered by Centre Pastel is a 4-days a week program, designed for children enrolled in home schooling. It is highly varied and focuses on sensory experiences linked to art and nature:

    • Visual arts (drawing, watercolor, form drawing, sculpting)
    • Handicrafts (knitting, sewing, gardening, wood working, cooking)
    • Physical activities (social games, hiking, nature walks, ice skating)
    • Music, Tales, Free imaginative play

    Through the experiences and workshops offered, Centre Pastel helps the implementation of the parents’ learning project.

    6 TO 99 YEARS OLD: the after school workshops

    Whether your child is enrolled in public, private or home school, he or she is welcome to take part in the Saturday Workshops offered throughout the year at Centre Pastel.

    We recommend, in order to experience the activities fully, to register for several successive sessions.

    Our offers includ watercolor painting, knitting, and tradition crafts.

    THE CENTRE PASTEL

    Centre Pastel is a non-profit organization created in 2024 that aims to help children up to the age of 10 year, to reach their full potential. This short period lays the foundation for lifelong health and wellbeing.

    Like a tree in its seed stage, a young child needs enough time to grow its roots, and develop its strengths and uprightness. At Centre Pastel, just like in nature, we cherish childhood by offering a nuturing and intimate environment, in which the child can unfold and develop all their strength and full potential.

    Notre fils de huit ans bénéficie énormément du programme au Centre Pastel cette année. Entre les cours d’aquarelle, de musique, de tricot, d’eurythmie, la préparation du pain, le travail de l’argile et autres activités artistiques, on ne peut pas demander mieux pour nourrir sa créativité. Le contenu académique renforçant le curriculum de 2e année est apporté de façon à éveiller son émerveillement et son enthousiasme pour le monde qui l’entoure. Toutes les activités du Centre suivent un rythme quotidien et hebdomadaire familier et sécurisant pour les enfants. De plus, nous recevons une aide précieuse de la part des tuteurs pour remplir les documents administratifs demandés aux parents école maison. Nous avons beaucoup de chance d’avoir ce programme disponible à Montréal !

    Pendant notre approche d’école à la maison, notre fille a eu la chance de fréquenter le Centre Pastel. Elle a vécu un parcours coloré d’expériences enrichissantes, aussi bien sur le plan physique que sur le plan spirituel. L’approche Waldorf, dans le contexte d’un petit groupe, a contribué à l’éveil des sens de notre fille dans le plan artistique, ludique et spirituel. Elle lui a permis de se doter de bases solides en tant qu’être éveillé et réceptif, stimulant sa curiosité et proposant une méthode et une ambiance favorables à l’épanouissement de sa créativité. Nous ne pouvons que souhaiter à d’autres familles de jouir de cette expérience constructive et positive pour leurs enfants.

    We feel so lucky to have found Centre Pastel. It is a beautiful school where the children learn through poetry, music, art, movement, and play. Our daughter loves and trusts her teachers, and they communicate with us daily about how she is doing. We have been especially grateful for the support that Centre Pastel has provided our anglophone daughter in learning French. When she started at the school she was resistant to learning the language, but now she is making terrific progress, and is excited and proud to speak French. This school is a true community, and a blessing for our family.

    Mon fils adore travailler avec ses mains et depuis qu’il fréquente les ateliers du samedi matin, j’ai vu sa créativité se développer de manière étonnante. Chaque semaine, il attend avec impatience de continuer à travailler sur son projet. Les ateliers du samedi sont devenus un moment clé de sa semaine.

    Knitting at centre at pastel was very fun. Everyone was so nice and they helped you whenever you needed it. The space was very beautiful too — I liked that. I also liked that it was in both French and English.

    Our daughter was enrolled in the knitting class at Centre Pastel and when we learned that a home schooling center was starting, we were eager to enroll her in the weekly program as well. We have been very pleased with the educator’s ability to create an environment that allows children the freedom to connect with themselves, their peers and our earth in a supportive and nurturing environment. She looks forward to going each day and is happy when she returns home. We feel that the Centre Pastel offers the perfect balance between the flexibility of time spent together as a homeschooling family and the opportunity for her to receive a beautiful curriculum in a safe and loving environment.     Les ateliers du Centre Pastel ont été une véritable découverte pour mon enfant, et je remarque une belle évolution dans sa confiance en lui. Il adore découvrir de nouvelles techniques artisanales et est toujours fier à l’idée de partager ses créations à la maison. Ce que j’apprécie particulièrement, c’est l’atmosphère chaleureuse et bienveillante qui y règne. Les animatrices et animateurs sont attentionnés et savent donner à chaque enfant l’espace pour exprimer sa personnalité à travers l’art.

    I am so happy that my daughter had the opportunity to learn to knit at centre Pastel. Prune and her team have a wonderful, warm space that feels grounding for both children and adults. By being in such a supportive and nourishing environment, my daughter felt inspired to put care and work into her project.
